San Francisco-based real estate operator The Swig Company announced that it has achieved a Fitwel healthy building certification for 3130 Wilshire Blvd., a six-story, 97,000 square-foot creative office building in Santa Monica, Calif.

The Center for Active Design, a global not-for-profit organization, awarded the Fitwel certification based on the building’s incorporation of evidence-based design and operation strategies across multiple categories, including walkability, transit access, indoor air quality, and wellness-focused amenities, all of which support the physical, mental, and social health of 3130 Wilshire’s occupants.
Acquired by The Swig Company in 2022, the property now holds Fitwel One Star, LEED Silver, WELL Health-Safety, and ENERGY STAR certifications.
“We are proud to have achieved this Fitwel Star certification, a recognition that reflects our ongoing commitment to both sustainability and the well-being of our tenants. This milestone underscores our belief that healthier, more resilient buildings like 3130 Wilshire are not only good for the environment, but also create vibrant, productive communities for the people that use them every day,” said Mei Chou, VP of asset management of The Swig Company.
Recent extensive renovations, including a full building seismic upgrade, a reimagined main lobby, and an inviting outdoor patio, have transformed the property into a modern and vibrant workplace destination. Tenants now enjoy a thoughtfully designed lounge with gaming tables, a wellness room, mother’s room, and two conference rooms, with flexible space to host gatherings of up to 88 people. These enhancements, combined with the building’s Fitwel rating and other wellness-focused certifications, contribute to a dynamic environment for tenants and visitors alike.
